Manama, Feb.8, (BNA)— Wife of His Majesty the King Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa deputized today Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Minister Dr Juma'a Al Ka'abi to launch at Al Andalus Park the Gardens' Friends campaign held under her auspices.
Manama Municipality Director General Yousef Al Ghatam gave a speech on behalf of Dr Al Ka'abi at the beginning of the inauguration ceremony in which he extended thanks and respect to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her patronage of the drive. He also emphasized the need to activate joint work between official and private sides to improve green spaces. Dr Al Ka'abi said in a statement to mark the occasion that HRH Princess Sabeeka's patronage of the campaign reasserts her key role in supporting the agricultural sector in Bahrain and her interest in expanding green spaces. The Garden's Friends campaign brings under its umbrella a group of citizens and residents who are seeking to raise awareness of the need to beautify public gardens and protect their facilities. AOQ
