Riyadh, Feb. 8(BNA) Experts from the GCC states and the European Union (EU) will hold a meeting in Riyadh next Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the activation of joint cooperation agreement between the two sides. GCC Secretary General Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah said in statements that the meeting comes in implementation of the decision of the 19th joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and the EU, held in Muscat on last April 29, regarding activating joint cooperation agreement that was signed in 1988 to cover all aspects of cooperation between the two sides as well as the decision of the GCC Ministerial Council in its 112th in September 2009 in this regard. The GCC Chief said for the joint meeting with the European side which will be attended by representatives of the competent authorities in the Member-States and the heads of the GCC states'' missions in brussels in addition to the GCC Secretariat General and the European Union (EU) will discuss the draft action plan and also the formation of specialized working teams in various areas of cooperation with a view to developing a joint work plan includes areas of cooperation between the two sides besides the proposed mechanisms to activate them to referred to the next session of the GCC Ministerial Council in March and then to be endorsed at the GCC-EU ministerial meeting to be held in May this year. em// ¬
